1st Day : Must-Go Places In Perak (Explore & Experience Perak)

December 01, 2017

Last week, I have joined an event that involved bloggers, youtubers and social media influences. This event is to promote some of the unique and beautiful places in Perak. In addition, this event was organized by Matic, Lumino Network, MOTAC Putrajaya, Port Ipoh & Tourism Perak. We went more than 10 states which some of them I never been there. So today, I would love to share my personal experience in Perak.

Are you ready??? Let's get started!

Kampung Kubu, Tanjung Malim

The first destination was Kampung Kubu that located at Tanjung Malim. Overhere, I learned more about Tanjung Malim. Tanjung Malim is actually situated 70 km north of Kuala Lumpur and 120 km south of Ipoh. It lies on the Perak-Selangor state border with Sungai Bernam serving as the natural divider. An early settlement nearby the Sungai Bernam called Kampung Kubu. Many jambu fruit trees were planted along the river bank by the Bugis community. Due to that, the area is called Kampung Jambu.

A mosque were built for the Muslim community. At that time, a British Strait of Settlements official pay a visit. Then, the state officials headed by Raja Itam referred the area as Tanjong as quoted by the local ulama which is also known by the local as Kg. Kubu, Kg. Bugis, Kg. Jambu and as Tanjung Jambu. Then, the state officials named it as Tanjung Malim which the word 'Malim' refers to the pious local Muslim community.

Street Art Mural, Tanjung Malim

Next, we popped in to see the street art mural in Tanjung Malim. I was pleasantly surprised to see some street art murals being drawn onto the walls of the houses. The street art has given life to a place while letting the artist express his moods and thoughts on the wall. It's truly a fabulous artwork! The most important is it's free for photography and I can shoot as much photo as I like. A great place to take such a great photo! I'm admiring all the art with the details in it and certainly worth a visit!

Must-Eat In Perak (Abdul Rahim Cendol & Garden Seafood Cuisine)

Abdul Rahim Cendol

Let me tell you that this cendol is super yummy. Taste heavenly good until I can't describe. They also serve rojak! A good snack on hot day and soothes my throat. This is the best cendol ever!

Address : 2-39, Jalan Besar, Taman Bandar, 35900 Tanjung Malim, Perak

Garden Seafood Cuisine

This was one of my favorite place ever. We went there early in the afternoon so that we no need to queue up at all. I love how they served the food and the portion was SUPER BIG. We ordered all their famous dishes but ended up we can't finish it (omg). Even 8 of us sharing also can't finish it. This restaurant is also a muslim friendly restaurant. So no worries

Water Tubing Ulu Slim, RISDA Eco Park

Last destination on that day. I have some splash moment at RISDA Eco Park with tubing activity. Water tubing is considered as an extreme adventure. It is the newest tourist attraction in Perak.

Upon arriving, we were fetched by the tubing organizer. Then, we were given a brief orientation on do's and dont's during the entire adventure. The guides also helped us in wearing the safety gears - helmet and life vest to ensure our protection.

After everything has been set up, it's time to start the water tubing! Woohoo!!!

It is fun and relaxing in one of the scenic river in Perak, Ulu Slim River! Imagine floating down the river using tube and experience nature first-hand. I had some me time far for the city and enjoy the 2 km gentle rapid along the winding river.

It is indeed a heart pumping experience when I went through the rapids! At the same time, I felt relieved when I survived without falling off from the tube.

This is I guess, one of the highlights of this whole adventure! It was a memorable and enjoyable river adventure. Indeed, it's an exciting and challenging activity! This challenge is not only to one's stamina but also to one's sense of adventure as well. The best to do it is during rainy days as the water level will surely be higher and the water current is much stronger. I highly recommend this activity if you want to try water tubing soon!

That night, we were served with very tasty bbq dinner, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and more! I was so hungry until I have forgotten to snap photos during the event. I ate until I drop. The service that I obtained here was like a first class service. We also had a special performance by Orang Asli (Aborigine) traditional dancer. I impressed watching their performance!

I also joined the performance haha!

Okay! Guess that's all for today. Please stay tuned for all the coming post and read it carefully so you might take this as a guide for you to travel along next time!
